I'm Laura - a pharmacist with 20 years of experience in observing older adults navigate the challenges of aging in place. In retail pharmacy, I encountered the same patients every month. Initially, they walked in confidently. Then came the cane. Next, it was a walker. Soon, someone else was picking up their medications. Eventually, they stopped coming altogether. Not always due to passing away, but because one fall led to a move they never wanted:
•hospital
• rehab
• nursing home
I witnessed the gradual loss of independence for seniors in real time. That's when I realized: Most falls aren't merely 'accidents.' They're predictable and preventable. They occur because families are often unaware of what to fix, and no one is teaching them. Now, I work in long-term care, and I see the same narrative unfold: Families say, 'We never saw it coming.'

And of course, I’m inspired by my grandma, who instilled in me the significance of aging with independence and dignity.

I designed Ready•Set•Stay to:
• address issues before a crisis
• help older adults remain at home longer
• preserve dignity, mobility, and control.
These objectives are met with no jargon, no shame, and no $5,000 remodels—just practical steps that make aging safer.
